Your ideal weight by the Devine, Robinson, Miller and Hamwi formulas, plus the healthy range by BMI.
How it works
There’s no single ideal weight: each formula gives a different figure and all of them are approximations. That’s why we show the four most used plus the range for a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9, which is the most useful reference.
Devine (men): 50 + 2.3 × (inches over 5 feet)
Devine (women): 45.5 + 2.3 × (inches over 5 feet)
Frequently asked questions
Why don’t the formulas agree?
They were built from different populations and for different purposes (such as drug dosing). Treat them as a guide.
